I have tried to change resolution but it does not help at all.

Move your mouse over it until it lights up (there should also be sparkles occasionally) and then click.

Your mouse cursor should also change when youre over the right area (if youve got the custom mouse disabled, maybe you should enable it temporarily so it can help you find your way).

If you cant open the puzzle by clicking on the door to the haunted cottage, it MIGHT open if you click on one of the items to go into the puzzle.

The item you find there, I think, is used in the door puzzle.

First time the squirrel appears and then the game just froze up.

The second Ive collected both animals and then when I go to the orchard nothing happens at all actively or passively.

The line of dialog remains on the screen telling me that Ive released them into the orchard.

I cannot access Help, Map, Hint, or even the Menu, so I have to force-quit (Im on a Mac).
